KC Crowell
Operations Associate
KC joined The Long Now Foundation in 02014 as a Barista at The Interval. After some time behind the bar, she ran away to work on sailing ships up and down the west coast. After years of working on everything from commercial ferries to traditionally rigged tall ships, she earned her 100 Ton Master's license from the Coast Guard in 02017.
KC brings her unique skill set honed in the maritime world to her role as Operations Associate at The Long Now, where she handles everything from office management to keeping the woodwork around The Interval looking bright.
Prior to her work at The Long Now and on ships, she studied journalism and philosophy at San Francisco State and worked in publishing. In her free time she creates embroidery art and also helps build and run fire sculptures in deserts.
